CLEVER – Citizenship Louder through European Vocational Education Resources

The CLEVER project is a dynamic Jean Monnet European network that brings together the University of Nantes, the School of Journalism in Tours, and six vocational secondary schools from France, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Lithuania, and Poland. Its ambition is to strengthen active European citizenship education among vocational students by using creative and engaging teaching methods.
CLEVER offers innovative training to teachers on key EU topics — migration, ecological and economic policies, minority inclusion, democratic governance, and interculturality — while introducing them to graphic facilitation as a powerful pedagogical tool.

Students are placed at the heart of the project through:

CLEVER aims to build a shared framework of formal and non-formal European citizenship skills, promoting inclusion, cooperation, and critical thinking. By encouraging students and teachers to work together across borders, the project helps shape a new generation of informed, creative, and committed European citizens.

“Let’s empower young Europeans to speak up, engage, and shape the future of Europe — that’s what CLEVER is all about.”
